• Meet Shai: a local native who in 2002 was strolling his neighborhood market when an 18 year old girl named Ayat detonated explosives killing a guard, one pregnant woman and injuring a dozen others. Shai scrambled through chaos to protect those in need and after years of PTSD therapy, with the support of his two kids he’s in recovery. Pushing beyond culture, religion and politics he understands Ayat was just a kid – raped and forced to be used by her own people as a weapon. The road to healing for Shai has been a process of letting go of the past and embracing the memory of Ayat with compassion instead of hate. It’s been an honor to tattoo him in the @israel_museum with @artists4israel @bishoprotary @mikesplaceisrael @bigmeas @bobtyrrell @franco_vescovi @jessesmithtattoos @meganjeanmorris @niki23gtr @russabbott @alexey_inkdonkey @m.fishman_ @razzoukwassim @bishoprotary @healinginkorg #healingink
