Strolled through MOCA the other day to see Parisian Hedi Slimane’s recent work. You know him best as a fashion designer and director for his work at YSL and Dior Homme. After declining offers from PPR to LVMH and alike, Slimane pursues his own creative expansion through photography beginning with California as his subject. This is a small, but refreshing take on showcasing Los Angeles that again reveals that subtle but clear distinction between the European eye to that of the American. Those in town, ignore both the hype and opinions of all those other photographers and go see good work for what it is.
